Stepping Stones is a six week course giving support, guidance and practical tools, helping students towards the next steps needed to achieve more focused learning with a confident and happy outlook. In our leader’s pack and with our training, you will find a step-by-step guide for delivering Stepping Stones. It has been designed with youth practitioners in mind to enable you the flexibility to deliver the course using your existing skills, your resources, your young people, in your context.

Course Outcomes

Young people will have:

  • encouraged one another and taken part in group learning to build their confidence.
  • begun to develop a way of evaluating a situation they face.
  • worked as a team to begin to overcome obstacles they face.
  • begun to develop the skill of critical thinking so they are empowered to make different choices.
  • developed and used a practical tool kit.

Measuring Outcomes

Young people will:

  • complete a pre-evaluation form to assess where they are at the start of the course.
  • set their own outcomes and expectations at the start of the course to gain a personal sense of achievement.
  • do a post evaluation form to measure how the course has impacted them.
  • reflect on their own pre-course expectations, to see their progress and achievements.
